This organic, washed coffee comes from the APROCAFE Co-operative of small lot farmers in San Pedro, Atitlan.
About 90% of the coffee grown in Atitlan is cultivated on the volcanic slopes that surround Lake Atitlan. The volcanic soil is comprised of rich, organic matter. This combined with elevations around 1600 masl and adequate rainfall produces coffees that develop clean sweetness and sparkling acidity. Brisk winds off of Lake Atitlan stir the cool lake water and provide variations in the microclimates of the region.
